A fire that destroyed an older wooden home in east Bakersfield is being investigated, and there’s concern that someone who may have been injured fled the scene.

Two others at the house on Descanso Street were able to escape the flames that broke out before 2:00 Tuesday morning after deputies on patrol spotted the fire.
