SOLAR FARM TO BREAK GROUND IN BAKO

An empty field in southeast Bakersfield is about to be turned into a solar farm, producing seven megawatts of electricity for nearby homes.

Immodo Energy of Fresno is building the 34-acre facility under a contract with the city, and land that’s now being used for illegal dumping will be turned into a fenced-off power plant. Construction on the site on East Planz Road near the wastewater plant begins later this year.
