Three people have been displaced by a fire that caused $40,000 in damage to apartment on Roberts Lane in Oildale.

County firefighters received numerous calls around 9:55 Wednesday night from the complex off Oildale Drive and alerted other residents when they arrived.

One dog died but several other pets were rescued.
