LAW ENFORCEMENT CLAMPS DOWN ON ST. PATTY’S DRUNK DRIVERS

Law enforcement agencies across Kern County are keeping their eyes peeled for drunk drivers during this St. Patrick’s Day weekend.

The CHP, Sheriff’s Deputies, and Bakersfield Police see even more arrests when the holiday falls on a weekend because people tend to drink more, with rural roads becoming even more dangerous. The CHP and Sheriff’s Deputies will have the same patrols while Bakersfield Police are putting more officers on the streets to stop or arrest drivers.

145 people were arrested and 60 people killed statewide in St. Patrick’s Day crashes last year.
