Gov. Brown’s $36 Billion infrastructure bill is getting pushback by local Republicans.They say raising gas taxes 12 cents a gallon and diesel by 20 cents is not the way to rebuild our roads. Bakersfield Assemblyman Vince Fong authored a bill that would stop gas tax revenues from going into the general fund like is being done now. He says there’s enough money to carry out the Governor’s rebuilding plan with no need to raise taxes and registration fees. He says that would hurt those who can least afford to pay more for gas.
