The City of Bakersfield is hosting a public meeting about the high speed rail station.The meeting is at the historic Fox Theater downtown to discuss where to put a high speed rail station. Former councilman Terry Maxwell went before the City Council Wednesday night to complain that residents of the Westchester neighborhood where he lives are opposed to where the city wants to put the station. He fears the public presentation and feedback session is just going through the motions for a public meeting and will have no influence. Thursday night’s meeting begins at 4:30 to review the Station Area Vision Plan.
