The “See Poverty, Be the Difference” forum in downtown Bakersfield looked at different ways to help 85,000 of our youngest residents move into the middle class.

Kern County Network for Children Executive Director Tom Corson thinks putting parents to work is the best way to lift children out of poverty. Other suggestions included reaching out to struggling families and improving graduation rates.
