PETS FIND HOMES IN MEGA ADOPTION

The first ever Mega Adoption event for shelter and rescue animals in Kern County was a huge success, with about 2,000 people turning out. County Animal Services Director Nick Cullen told Supervisors Tuesday that about 90 critters from dozens of local groups were brought to the fairgrounds Sunday in Bakersfield.

Julie Johnson at the Bakersfield SPCA says the success of Sunday’s event has them planning a similar adoption fair at Rabobank Arena in October, though they’re still working out the date.
