The kitten who was trapped in a burning central Bakersfield house has been adopted by the paramedic who saved her.

Little Smokey Lucky was treated for smoke inhalation before going home with new owner Kevin Callaghan.

City firefighters have arrested a 40-year-old woman for starting Wednesday night’s fire at the vacant property on Eye Street near 2nd Street.
