Bakersfield police are investigating a fatal hit and run accident that happened as a man crossed the street Sunday night on Fairview Road.

That was just before 10:00 east of Monitor Street, and the victim was outside the crosswalk. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark colored GMC or Chevy.
