VIRGIN UNITY TESTS FEATHER

Virgin Galactic has conducted what they say was a successful test of the Unity spacecraft. The test flight was launched from the Mojave Air and Spaceport. Monday morning’s high altitude test was the first for a re-entry system called “the feather.” The eastern Kern County space company says it will still take some time to examine the test results and make adjustments to the ship.

Virgin Spaceship Unity flies freely after being released from Virgin Mothership Eve on 1 May 2017. During this test, the feather re-entry system was activated in flight for the first time.
