The U.S. Attorney’s office is not making any comments about the plea agreement reached with former Kern County deputies. Logan August and Derrick Penney pleaded guilty to stealing marijuana from evidence lockers. The plea deal is not official until it’s accepted by a federal judge on May 15th, and Attorney Phillip Talbert will discuss the case at that point.
