NO DAMAGE FROM BIG BURN

A wildfire has burned 288 acres in the hills northeast of Bakersfield, near Rio Bravo Ranch. Monday afternoon’s fire started around 2:00 and took 3 hours to get under control using helicopters and air tankers. The cause is unknown and the fire burned in a remote, grassy area south of Highway 178. Monday was also declared as the start of the wildfire season by County Fire.
