One of the suspects in the killing of a Montana deputy has died after a shootout. 38-year-old Marshall Barrus died the day after he and his father, 61-year-old Lloyd Barrus of Bakersfield, are believed to have shot a Broadwater County deputy. The elder Barrus served jail time for a 2000 chase and shootout that ended in Inyo County. Barrus’ other son remains in prison for that incident which included shooting at a CHP helicopter forcing it to land.
