Kern County Veterans Services says their programs will stay in place despite expected five-percent budget cuts this year. Director Dick Taylor spoke at a Memorial Day ceremony at Historic Union Cemetery in east Bakersfield on Monday and says the Board of Supervisors has made them a top priority. Taylor says several public-private partnerships will be announced this year to keep those services in place.
Kern County spends more than $40-Million on vets and their surviving family members each year.
