TRAIN ROBBERS GET ROBBED

The 7-and-0 Bakersfield Train Robbers baseball team made the best of a bad bounce when their clubhouse was robbed.

Field Manager Bill Moore says he’ll take the heat for that loss Monday night at Sam Lynn Ballpark after he left the clubhouse door open. The suspect took baseballs and baseball pants and socks, sunglasses, a radar gun, and even a plaque from Moore’s wall.

They got everything back except for a pair of Oakley glasses when the players spotted the suspect wearing their gear.

They beat the High Desert Yardbirds 8-6 Wednesday night at home.
