The Bakersfield City Council is delaying votes on two items from this week’s meeting.A proposed ordinance to add regulations to the massage industry has been delayed after people in the industry showed up at Tuesday’s City Council meeting. They complained the plan to address prostitution would make it much harder for legitimate therapists to do business. A resolution to send a letter to President Trump complaining about his proposed elimination of Community Development Block Grants, which would cost the city $4.3-million a year. There is concern the letter could be misunderstood as a general displeasure with the President’s budget. It will be tweaked and then considered again.
