An Oildale man has been displaced after a porch oven sparked a house fire on Beardsley Avenue.

Jeff Clark says he was cooking breakfast for the homeless around 7:00 Thursday morning when he started hearing hissing sounds, then the place caught fire.

The flames spread quickly through the older wooden building and threatened at least four other homes nearby. The fire also caused a power line to fall to the ground which just missed county crews.
