HEAT SENDS FOLKS TO THE ER

Emergency room visits are up across Kern County as the heatwave takes a toll.

Adventist Health Hospital ER Director James Seay says some patients are more prone to get heat stroke than others, including the elderly, children, homeless, and those in older homes without air conditioning. Seay says higher than normal humidity is also making it harder for the body to cool off.

People with nausea, dizziness and headaches are encouraged to see a doctor.
