A Lamont family has been displaced after they set their house on fire with a firework.

The mom and her toddler were playing with the sparkler Wednesday afternoon outside the home on Velma Avenue and Bonita Road when a nearby couch caught fire. A damage estimate has not been released, but the front of the house has been completely destroyed.

County firefighters were making a routine business check nearby when they spotted the smoke.
