LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS FIGHT ALAMO FIRE

More than 40 Kern County firefighters are helping put out the largest wildfire in California.

The Alamo Fire has burned close to 29,000 acres since it started off Highway 166 near Santa Maria last week, and Battalion Chief Derrick Davis says they have been managing the response in addition to fighting the fire, flying a helicopter, and driving dozers.

Bakersfield Fire has also sent two crews there. The Alamo Fire is close to 70-percent contained.
