KHSD SETTLES MINORITY STUDENT LAWSUIT

The Kern High School District has settled a lawsuit with several civil rights groups who claim minority students were unfairly disciplined or expelled more than whites. The District will spend $670,000 over the next three years to change its disciplinary programs, as well as host a public forum with parents.

KHSD says Monday’s settlement is not an admission of guilt, and they only did it to save taxpayers from a costly lawsuit.
