The Bakersfield Fire Department is deploying two engine companies as part of a strike team to the Garden Fire burning southwest of Lake Isabella. They join the US Forest Service and Kern County Fire in the containment effort.

The blaze, which broke out Sunday, has charred 1,350 acres and is 15%contained. The cause remains under investigation.
