Kern County firefighters are mopping up after the 50-acre Calgary Fire that’s destroyed eight homes in Wofford Heights. The fire is now 75-percent contained, and Captain Tom Eliison says they had to move fast after the fire sparked in hot weather Saturday near Calgary and Evans roads. 300 homes were saved from the flames but the cause of the fire is under investigation, firefighters want to speak with a woman who was seen driving a blue Chrysler LeBaron with a flat tire.
