FINES LEVIED AGAINST TWO FARMING COMPANIES

Fines totaling more than $50-thousand have been levied against two farming companies that caused a pesticide drift in a cabbage field near Maricopa. Kern County Agricultural Commissioner Glenn Fankhauser says the penalties are based on the number of infractions uncovered. Calls to Sun Pacific – Maricopa and Grape Man Farms in Delano have not been returned, five people sought medical treatment last Spring.
