GULCH FIRE STOPPED IN KEYESVILLE

The U.S. Forest Service and Kern County firefighters have knocked down a 15-acre brush fire near Keyesville.

The Gulch Fire that sparked in steep terrain in the Black Gulch North area around 11:30 Friday morning. The Forest Service says favorable weather conditions helped them snuff it out within a few hours. Crews also used air tankers and helicopters to put it out.

It is unclear how the fire sparked.
