KHSD GETS TRAFFIC COPS

The Kern High School District has launched a traffic enforcement program at some of their 18 campuses to enhance the safety of students and staff.

Acting Police Chief Ed Komin says officers will use a special hand-held radar and a mobile trailer to catch speeders. The department will issue citations or warnings as appropriate for violations within the 25 mile-per-hour zones. Drivers will be monitored when students are on the sidewalk, roadway, or other areas surrounding a school.
