Kern County’s unemployment rate has decreased slightly to nine point four percent for August, down from a revised nine point six percent in July. California Labor Market Consultant Rosendo Flores says the numbers released Friday are normal for this time of year. The state’s jobless rate is five point four percent, the national numbers are at four and a half percent.
