BODY CAMERAS COME TO BAKERSFIELD

Ninety deputies in the county areas of Bakersfield are going to be wearing body cameras while on patrol. Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Tyson Davis says it’s a technology that’s very useful for law enforcement because they can go back and review incidents and use the cameras for prosecution and training.

More than a dozen deputies at the Wasco substation have been using the devices for some time, 20 officers assigned to people wearing ankle monitors have them, plus another 10 officers in the downtown jail on L Street.
