CITY SAYS NO TO POT…AGAIN

The Bakersfield City Council has closed the door on allowing pot shops to do business.

The council voted 5-1 to approve an ordinance banning all commercial activity within city limits. Ward 1 Councilman Willie Rivera repeated his “no” vote Wednesday night, saying the city needs the revenue. Ward 7’s Chris Parlier was absent.

It will not affect the recreational use of marijuana when Proposition 64 takes effect next year.
