Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on a northeast Bakersfield sidewalk. Sgt. Ryan Kroeker says officers were called just after 7:00 Wednesday morning when he was spotted on Haley Street near Niles Street. Investigators are calling it suspicious, but have not said why.

Kroeker says they are interviewing witnesses and looking at security camera footage from nearby businesses to figure out what happened.
