A Bakersfield man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in a bank fraud and identity theft operation. Assistant US Attorney Christopher Baker says 42-year-old Edgar Gomez stole numerous documents between July and September 2012 from postal service facilities.

37-year-old Jennifer Barthel was given time served and 48-year-old Augustine Castro is awaiting sentencing on similar charges.
