A Kern County deputy has been cited for improper storage of a handgun after four weapons were stolen from an unmarked sheriff’s vehicle in his driveway. Sergeant David Stephens is on active duty but was given an infraction.

The guns were taken October 17th in northwest Bakersfield. One was found at the scene of a fatal, officer involved shooting this weekend on Planz Road.
