The Bakersfield man who pleaded no contest to tying up and robbing an elderly woman and her grandson at gunpoint has been sentenced to 21 years in prison.

Tyrone Mitchell was caught when police tracked a cell phone and other items stolen from the home on Thoreson Avenue near Akers Road last year. Co-defendant Timothy Chaffold received a similar sentence last week.
