ARVIN TABLES OIL/GAS RULES

The Arvin City Council has voted to delay imposing a new oil and gas ordinance until they can meet with producers and come up with regulations both sides can agree on. Residents, environmentalists, and politicians packed the council chambers Tuesday night and presented more than two and half hours of public comment.

Kern Citizens for Energy says the proposed ordinance would have imposed controls on where those businesses could be located and new operations would need a conditional use permit.
