ARVIN HIGH LOCKDOWN LIFTED

Classes have resumed at Arvin High School after a report of an armed man at the campus prompted an hours-long lock down, and sent parents into a panic.

Kern High School District Acting Police Chief Ed Komin says four different law enforcement agencies responded to the call around 10:36 Monday morning. Komin says no shots were fired and inaccurate social media posts caused upset parents to gather outside and spread the concern. A complete search of the campus by SWAT and a helicopter overhead turned up no evidence of a gunman.

The district notified parents via an alert systems. The all-clear was given at 1:30p.m.
