A garage fire at an east Bakersfield apartment complex forced evacuations Tuesday morning around 5:00. It’s not known what caused the fire at Quincy and Pacific streets, but a fire in a vacant commercial building in northeast Bakersfield may have been started by transients trying to stay warm. That one was around 2:30a.m. at Jewett Avenue and 30th Street.
