Two men have been arrested accused of trying to run over a deputy and CHP officers near Heritage Bible Church on Mt. Vernon Avenue in east Bakersfield. It happened early Wednesday morning following a suspected DUI traffic stop. A Honda Civic narrowly missed hitting them, Jose Lopez and Miguel Gutierrez were booked on charges including attempted murder.
