Students in southwest Bakersfield have hosted a peaceful gun control rally on President’s Day in response to the shootings at a Florida high school.

Organizer Lucy Brown from Bakersfield High School said recent demonstrations encouraged her to do something here. Monday’s march began at the towers on California Avenue near Easton Drive and worked its way to Stockdale Highway.
