A federal judge has just signed off on a map for new Supervisorial districts.

The new boundaries were worked out last month by Supervisors and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund, after MALDEF sued and won under the Voting Rights Act. The judge just made some slight changes on Wednesday.

Kern County now has two majority Latino districts, while elections for Districts 2, 3 and 4 will be in November.
