HIGH SPEED RAIL STATION PLAN APPROVED

The Bakersfield City Council has approved the final environmental impact report for the High Speed Rail station even though they haven’t picked a site.

Community Development Director Jackie Kitchen says it also includes a plan to revitalize downtown and add walkways, even if the bullet train never comes.

The city wants to put the station at F Street and Highway 204 but is also considering the current Amtrak station on Truxtun Avenue.
