People in Tehachapi are stepping in to help after a vandalism spree caused thousands of dollars in damage to the high school. The extensive destruction from overnight Wednesday includes doors being glued shut and 25 trees being cut down overnight, and the campus only has video surveillance inside the buildings. The Tehachapi News reports Home Depot is coordinating the donation of 23 tall Ashe trees to replace some of the ones that were cut down and staff is already working to unlock doors that were glued shut and clean up damaged restrooms. Damage is estimated at $10-thousand and the suspects will face felonies when they’re caught.
