BAKERSFIELD MAN UNFIT TO STAND TRIAL IN DEPUTY DEATH

The Bakersfield man charged with killing a Montana Sheriff’s deputy has been found mentally unfit to stand trial.

62-year-old Lloyd Barrus is accused of shooting Deputy Mason Moore during a traffic stop near Bozeman last year. Barrus’ 38-year-old son was wounded in a shootout with the law enforcement officers who arrested them after a chase through several counties.
