BPD DRUGS SUSPECT FACES MORE CHARGES

The man accused of conspiring with two former Bakersfield police officers to distribute meth and marijuana has been hit with more charges for a separate crime.

Federal prosecutors say Noel Carter deposited rent checks for the Pacific Workplaces office downtown into his own bank account. He faces life in prison and a $10 million fine if convicted.

Former BPD detectives Damacio Diaz and Patrick Mara are serving five year prison terms in the other case.
