The Dolores Huerta Foundation rallied outside Congressman Kevin McCarthy’s Bakersfield office to urge Republicans to pass comprehensive immigration reform.

Huerta says they also want Wednesday’s protest to call attention to family separations at the Mexican border. Protestors were asked to fast for 24 hours as part of the nationwide “Break Bread Not Families” campaign that also provides lawyers for illegal immigrant families.
