The North of the River Recreation and Park District says fireworks are banned at their community centers and all 24 of their parks because of dry conditions.

Los Padres National Forest is also banning fireworks, including “Safe and Sane” ones, because they could easily spark a fire in the dry brush. Violators will be fined $5,000.
