More than 50 horses, cattle, goats, and chickens have been killed in a fire near Arvin.

Kern County firefighters aren’t sure what sparked Sunday afternoon’s fire on Bear Mountain Blvd. and Comanche Road, which was fueled by winds and high temperatures. Firefighters saved some animals before the fire was knocked down.
