Eighty-eight middle school students are the newest graduates of the Bakersfield Junior Police Academy. BPD Recruit Training Officer Christina Perkins says they use the four week course to combat misconceptions in the community.

Recruits learned everything from leadership skills to crime scene investigation before getting their diplomas Wednesday at The Bridge Bible Church on Stockdale Highway.
