An elderly Arvin man has died after he was hit by an SUV in east Bakersfield. The CHP says they’re investigating why 32-year-old Monica Hernandez struck the victim around 9:45 Thursday night on Washington Street and Virginia Avenue.

Firefighters were unable to revive the man.
