Relief from tariff losses for California farmers in on the way after the Department of Agriculture announced three short term programs. But Federal Policy Associate Sara Neagu-Reed says the food purchase and distribution program for specialty crops is second in line to the program for ‘row crops’ like corn, wheat and soy which will roll out this fall. Neagu-Reed says it could take up to nine or more months for fruit, nut, berry, and vegetable growers to see help.
